Westwood Gallery NYC Announces Exclusive Representation of Don Porcaro

We are pleased to announce our Exclusive Representation
of artist Don Porcaro and his first solo exhibition with the gallery Time Will Tell, curated by James Cavello, from April 1 - June 10, 2023.

Don Porcaro (b. 1950) is an American sculptor who has explored the nature of human interaction with the physical world for over four decades. With an emphasis on totemic iconography, his constructions focus on the layering of intricately carved stones to create forms at the intersection of figuration and architecture.

Don Porcaro's first solo exhibition with the gallery will open April 1, 2023.

My work over time has consistently explored the nature of human interaction with the physical world through references to architecture and man-made objects. Tools, utensils, buildings and machines eventually become artifacts, archaeological sites and cultural signifiers. I work in series that bring together many of these interests, with an emphasis on totemic iconography and the human form through the building up and layering of stones. This layering alludes to the accumulation of geological time as well as cultural history, while the feet firmly place the sculptures in the realm of figuration.
