Friends and family gathered at the Memorial Service for Charles Hinman, 2026
Westwood Gallery NYC, July 22, 2026 - Friends and family of Charles Hinman (1932–2026) gathered at Westwood Gallery NYC for the Memorial Service of the late artist, who passed away on May 29th of this year.
To open the service, several speakers, including gallery owners Margarite Almeida and James Cavello, Ted Hinman, Delphine Zohn, and artists Alan Steele and James Little, shared memories and reflected on their experiences with the artist. The memorial event was also livestreamed and watched by friends and family in several countries. This was followed by the screening of a tribute film prepared by the gallery, which highlighted the milestones and many accomplishments in the artist's life and career. The Memorial Service concluded with a reception for guests, offering them an opportunity to view Hinman's last lifetime exhibition, Artists on the Bowery, Part 6: Reframing the Edge (May 28 – August 1). Westwood Gallery NYC is honored to represent Charles Hinman and to be co-trustees of the Charles Hinman Trust.
