"The Lost Stories series was created shortly after a trip to Egypt. I was deeply moved by the monumental architecture, their building techniques and particularly by the remarkable gracefulness of the gigantic columns. Unlike Greco-Roman architecture where columns are singular in form, the Egyptians often bundled five columns together to form a single support structure. The primary reason for this I learned was not only to bare the weight of the massive lintels, but to resemble the natural vegetation of the Nile, the source of all life to the Egyptian people, like bundled reeds, papyrus stocks, lotus flowers and palm trees."

"The smallest artifact can tell a story about an entire culture - its time, place, history and function. The Art-or-Fact series is about this very question, 'what if this were found 1000 years from now?'”

"If these pieces were dug up by an archaeologist in the future, what would it tell them not just about the maker, but about our culture?"
