The Crown Penthouse: 212 Fifth Avenue: Flatiron District, New York City, 2018

WESTWOOD GALLERY NYC was pleased to collaborate with Robert Gladstone, CEO of Madison Equities, to present a premiere art collection curated by James Cavello for 212 Fifth Avenue’s jewel: The Crown Penthouse, a triplex featuring 10,000 square-feet of indoor space and 5,700 square-feet of outdoor space. The collection was uniquely selected to create a dialogue within the extraordinary triplex, and to enhance the architectural details with historic and groundbreaking New York visual artists and photographers. This included: Cy Twombly, Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Indiana, Robert Ryman, Sam Francis, Will Insley, Charles Hinman, Douglas Kirkland, Roy Schatt, Peter Shaindlin, Gerald Laing, Alberto Biasi, Drew Tal, Franco Costalonga, and many others.

“Each and every work of art was carefully chosen to reflect the same complexity and elegance that you can find within the property’s interior design and features, as well as to guide you from room to room,” said James Cavello, co-founder of Westwood Gallery NYC.

“Great art needs to be displayed in the right place and The Crown is one of those one-of-a-kind places,” said Robert Gladstone, the property developer. “Anyone who would consider living there would also have a spectacular collection, and an irreplaceable art collection is always linked to an extraordinary home.”

This project is part of Westwood Gallery’s creative collaborations with the luxury real-estate industry.
