Tim White-Sobieski’s The Last Supper (2003-4), an edition of three C-prints mounted on plexi, is a disturbing but clever contemporary rendition of the Da Vinci classic. A soccer mom in an ivory gown presides over the table like Jesus–and her “disciples” are Boy Scout-aged boys in military gear. Table is served with buns, hand grenades and bullets.
The artwork is on view at Westwood Gallery in Miami.
