Art historian Simon K. Nielsen has published a review of Inger Johanne Grytting's retrospective exhibition at Tegnerforbundet in Oslo. The exhibition, entitled Inger Johanne Grytting: Three Decades in Drawing, explores the evolution of Grytting's drawing practice from the mid 1990s onward. Translated from Norwegian, Nielsen writes, "Grytting's poetics recall automatic writing of surrealism, in the sense that she insists on letting chance, the sudden, into the process as a separate poetic point."
Inger Johanne Grytting: Three Decades in Drawing is on view from April 10 through June 15, 2025 at Tegnerforbundet in Oslo.
