Documentary photographer Joshua Charow's Loft Law project and the Westwood Gallery exhibition Loft Law: Photographs by Joshua Charow are highlighted in Yatzer by journalist Eric David.
"Titled after the 1982 New York State law that prevented landlords from evicting artists occupying industrial spaces, Charow’s ambitious project culminated in "Loft Law: The Last of New York City’s Original Artist Lofts", an engrossing photography book published by Damiani Books back in April. Accompanied by an exhibition at Westwood Gallery NYC which ran until July 13, 2024, the book paints a vivid portrait of a bygone era in New York’s downtown art scene."
