Hired by Look magazine in late 1961 to shoot Monroe for their 25th anniversary issue, Douglas Kirkland had no way of knowing this was to be one of the last shoots Marilyn would ever sit for. Kirkland came back with a sequence of dreamy, intimate, legendary images.
