A former Guggenheim fellow, Adelman has over the years contributed cover photos to magazines, published books on subjects from Princess Grace to writer Raymond Carver to George Bush, His photography has been exhibited at the Smithsonian, the Museum of Modern Art and the Getty Museum. Through his work, Adelman became a portal to the civil rights movement. But it would take a move to Florida from New York and a decade for Adelman to comb through 15,000 images and produce Mine Eyes have Seen. The photographs from his book are to be exhibited at Westwood Gallery in New York City.
