Farai Chideya, NPR, 14 Jan 2008

Decades ago, photographer Bob Adelman volunteered to take photos for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and other early civil rights groups. Today, his images of Martin Luther King Jr., and demonstrators in Birmingham, Alabama, are iconic.

Farai Chideya talks with Adelman about his new book, Mine Eyes Have Seen: Bearing Witness to the Civil Rights Struggle, which includes these and other ground-breaking images of blacks in America.
