The solo exhibition by New York-based artist Charles Hinman, titled Shaped Paintings got underway at Westwood Gallery on February 28 and will run through April 8, 2017.
The show features 40 artworks by Hinman spanning from the 1970s until 2014. It includes a selection of shaped canvases, drawings, and sculpture highlighting the artist’s unique body of work. On view are artworks such as White Rise, 1974, a minimalist white column consisting of three prisms emphasizing the force of negative space and shadows.
