VANITY FAIR organizes a large photographic exhibition dedicated to Douglas Kirkland’s work

La Triennale di Milano, Design Museum, 26 Sep 2008

Douglas Kirkland–represented in Italy by the Grazia Neri agency– is probably the most famous film set photographer. Over the course of his fifty-year career he has in fact documented more than 100 major Hollywood productions.

On the occasion of its fifth anniversary, VANITY FAIR organizes a large photographic exhibition dedicated to Kirkland’s work which opens at the Milan Triennale on 26 September.

The photographic material will consist of approximately 90 images in total, which are organized by 2 narrative threads: Approximately 60 reproductions selected from the Freeze Frame volume, and 25 unpublished photographs that Kirkland took for the anniversary of VANITY FAIR ITALIA between Cinecittà and other locations.

When Freeze Frame was published at the end of 2007, the book had already been the subject of two photographic exhibitions in the United States: in December 2007 at the Westwood Gallery in New York and in February 2008 on the occasion of the Oscars, at the Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts And Sciences in Los Angeles.
