An exhibition of Thomson's work, 40 photographs of the people and places of the Far East taken between 1866 and 1871, opened here on Aug. 6, at the Atlas Books/Gallery. Each of the images has also been reproduced in a limited edition of 350 hand-finished silver gelatin prints made from original glass-plate negatives. Prices for the new prints, which measure roughly 12 inches by 16 inches, range from about $215 to about $370.
