‘On the Bowery’ is a portfolio composed of ten silkscreen prints from ten artists including Richard Smith, Charles Hinman, and John Willenbecher. Each image surfaced between 1964 and 1971. Notions of Optical art underline a push toward the coherent rather than gestural line in graphics post-AbEx. The exhibition also commemorates the environments that birthed the prints themselves.
The exhibition will run from April 14 – June 9 at Westwood Gallery in SoHo
