Curator James Cavello had recently become aware that many artists were searching for a universal truth, hoping to capture in their works something beyond the material world. Impressed by their accomplishments, he arranged this fascinating exhibition. Though the twenty-two artists represented widely different styles and mediums, together their pieces created a homogeneous, almost otherworldly atmosphere.
Every work in the show confirmed Cavello’s sense of these artists’ mission. Places of worship would do well to take note of these artists.
