The African Gaze is an introduction to postcolonial and contemporary photography and cinema from Africa. The publication includes well known and collected photographers such as Malick Sidibé, Sanlé Sory, and Seydou Keïta next to names that are now coming to the surface like Algerian photographer Lazhar Mansouri. Featuring texts by Amy Sall, Mamadou Diouf, Yasmina Price, Zoé Samudzi and interviews with Samuel Fosso and Souleymane Cissé.
