Two photographs by Roy Schatt were exhibited in Marilyn Monroe ! 100 ans at the Cinémathèque française in Paris, a retrospective exhibition curated by Florence Tissot honoring the actress' 100th birthday anniversary.
The photographs, on loan from Westwood Gallery NYC, document Monroe in classes at The Actors Studio in New York City in the 1950s. Schatt’s lens captured Monroe studying method acting during this pivotal period as she sought greater artistic credibility and worked to reshape her public image beyond that of a Hollywood star.
Schatt's photograph is also featured in the accompanying exhibition catalogue, Marilyn Monroe, published by La Cinémathèque française / GrandPalaisRmnÉditions.
