Danny Simmons at the Houston Museum of African American Culture

Traveling Exhibition

The Journey to Everything, a solo exhibition of paintings by Neo-African Abstract Expressionist Danny Simmons, opens at the Houston Museum of African American Culture on August 29, 2025. The exhibition has traveled to Houston from the Reginald F. Lewis Museum in Baltimore, where it was curated by Westwood Gallery's James Cavello.

The paintings, works on bark cloth, and African tribal objects from the artist's personal collection are put in conversation exploring themes of diaspora, ancestral memory, and Black spirituality.
