NO!art: Downtown Rebellion, 1960s
Forthcoming exhibition
Overview
Westwood Gallery NYC is pleased to present NO!art: Downtown Rebellion, 1960s, an exhibition dedicated to the founders of NO!art: Boris Lurie, Sam Goodman, and Stanley Fisher. Featuring more than twenty paintings, works on paper, mixed media pieces, and sculptures from the 1960s, the exhibition revisits a pivotal moment in postwar American art. Curated by James Cavello, the presentation continues the gallery’s commitment to foregrounding historically significant artists and estates whose impact merits additional institutional recognition. In the downstairs viewing room, Westwood Gallery honors the legacy of pioneer New York gallerist and champion of the of the NO!art movement Gertrude Stein (1927–2026) with a presentation of photographs and historical ephemera.
